Home of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), Croke Park Stadium is Ireland’s foremost sporting and entertainment venue. Over 1,500,000 visitors are welcomed annually to national and international events, and the Croke Park campus also features Croke Park Meetings & Events and GAA Museum & Tours.
The Association are now seeking to recruit a suitably qualified Accountant to join the National Finance team. Reporting to the National Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing proactive support to Club, County and Provincial units within the Association, supporting their reporting and financial requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
* Preparation of quarterly management accounts for multiple clients
* Performing Debtor, Creditor & Bank reconciliations monthly
* Processing of Sales & Purchase transactions
* Bank transactions entry to finance software
* Preparation of VAT returns for review
* Other analytical/reconciliation work as required
* Produce a quarterly report pack to include commentary, trends & variance analysis for management team
* Arrange meetings with clients to review their financial objectives
* Provide financial assistance and related support to all units within the Association
Essential Criteria:
* Qualified or part qualified IATI, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA;
* Third level degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field;
* 3+ years previous experience in an accounts role;
* Proven experience of working with multiple clients and reporting entities;
* Evident experience of financial reporting and the use of financial software;
* Strong analytical and decision-making skills;
* Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills;
* Demonstrably strong ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels;
* Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities to tight deadlines;
* Proven problem-solving skills and ability to act on own initiative;
* Excellent administrative and IT skills, and a proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
Desirable Criteria:
* A knowledge of the Xero & Microsoft Dynamics Software packages;
* Strong knowledge and understanding of the GAA and its structures;
* Experience working in the not-for-profit sector an advantage.
