The Lab Analyst is responsible for performing routine chemical analysis in an accurate and timely manner ensuring the manufacturing process is continuous and the finished product is ready for release.In this role a typical day will include:Perform routine chemical analysis as required by the laboratory. Collect and prepare samples for chemical analysis across shifts as required.Perform System Suitability tests as required by the laboratory equipment. Collect and prepare samples for purity testing and in-process formulation testing. Perform FTIR, UV-Vis Spectrophotometry, HPLC and GC analysis. Perform chemistry and material testing as required by the laboratory procedures (As applicable)Technically comprehend test processes and perform required troubleshooting studies/investigations to resolve technical and/or operational issues, for process improvements and validations. Drive out of spec investigations to a successful and timely conclusion.Lead and/or assist with in-house Laboratory validation studies/projects as required by the Laboratory Manager.Assist with following; training of other Laboratory personnel, internal auditing as well as supporting QC auditors with product release and paperwork review.Comply and adhere to all the relevant company policies, industry standards and regulatory requirements.Adhere to laboratory dress code and facility safety procedures. Perform routine laboratory cleaning of benches and laboratory equipment. Perform basic equipment maintenance.Complete cross training as requested to support Production needs.Perform any other duties as assigned by the Laboratory Manager.Ensure continual Quality System compliance by adherence to established and evolving Alcon QS RequirementsWHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:Strong chemical technical knowledge, with system troubleshooting and validation experience.Minimum: Two years in a regulated Medical Device / Pharmaceutical Laboratory position in Chemistry with troubleshooting experience.Bachelor's degree in chemistry or technically related discipline preferably with some experience in FTIR, UV-Vis Spectrophotometry, HPLC and GC analysis and Wet chemistry.Strong chemical technical knowledge, with system troubleshooting and validation experience.Good attention to detail,Flexible/adaptable to changeGood communication skillsBusiness senseHow you can thrive at AlconA competitive salary package with fixed salary, bonus, pension and health insuranceA flexible work environment with competent and committed colleagues.
