Our client, a well-established civil engineering contractor responsible for the upgrade of wastewater treatment plants nationwide, requires a Project Manager with experience in civils and/or wastewater management to join their team on a permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure compliance with current legislation, codes of practice, and relevant standards. Assist in maintaining the company legal register.
* Review and implement company HSQE management procedures.
* Review and implementation of Construction Health and Safety Plans.
* Review and implementation of Site Construction Stage Environmental Management Plan.
* Review and implementation of Site Quality Management Plan on the BIM platform.
* Arrange, prepare, and conduct Site Inductions.
* Update and maintain all records associated with the HSQE management system.
* Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements as required.
* Review and comment on Subcontractor's RAMS.
* Record HSQE statistics including Key Performance Indicators.
* Provide monthly HSQE report.
* Arrange, co-ordinate, and minute Site Health and Safety meetings.
* Support the Investigation of accidents and dangerous occurrences, maintaining proper records and complying with and reporting to relevant bodies.
* Ensure breaches of the health and safety programme and regulations are reported to the Project Manager, and where appropriate dealt with under the company disciplinary rules and procedures.
* Document health and safety meetings and capture action plans.
* Carry out training in all areas where competent, including toolbox talks.
* Maintain internal relationships with other departments for the effective operation of the health and safety function – human resources, environmental, insurance, quality, transport fleet managers, etc.
* Build effective relationships with external bodies for the management of health, safety, quality & environment – Health and Safety Authority, Health and Safety Inspectors, EPA, etc.
* Procurement of site services and equipment.
* Preparation of site handover documentation.
Requirements
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in civils and/or wastewater treatment is preferable.
* Previous experience in design and build of water or wastewater projects.
* Possess a positive and proactive approach to working in a team environment with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Client-facing experience.
* Desirable experience with MS Project, P6, and BIM 360.
Education Requirements
* A third-level qualification in Engineering or Safety Management is required.
Additional Requirements
* A full clean driving licence is required.
* Site Safety Management accreditations are desirable.
