Project Ecologist
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Ecologist to join our Environment and Heritage team.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive ecological services and specialist advice on a diverse range of projects undertaken by the team, primarily across Dublin, Leitrim, Fermanagh, Westmeath, and Clare.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage ecological surveys, impact assessments, and other ecology projects from inception to completion, including collaboration with stakeholders such as Waterways Ireland, statutory bodies, consultants, and the public.
* Scope, plan, and undertake ecological surveys in freshwater and terrestrial environments, collecting and interpreting biological data.
* Prepare written ecological reports, impact assessments, management plans, etc. based on field survey efforts, including mapping and data collation.
* Develop Ecological Impact Assessments and Appropriate Assessment reports.
* Commission specialist ecological assessments/surveys and monitoring outputs (e.g., badger, otter, bats, ornithology, habitat restoration / rehabilitation, woodland management planning).
* Engage with relevant stakeholders in both the North and South, including central government departments, planning authorities, Northern Ireland Environment agency, National Parks and Wildlife Service, Inland Fisheries Ireland, and other regulatory bodies.
* Create project habitat maps using ArcGIS.
* Organize and prioritize work effectively.
* Attend relevant meetings and contribute to discussions.
