TheSuperannuation / Payroll Officerwill ensure that all employees are registered, their records are maintained for the appropriate pension scheme to their contract of employment and will keep abreast of all developments, which are likely to have an impact onSuperannuation Legislation and Administration. Skills, Competencies And Knowledge 2 years previous experience in superannuation or payroll. Knowledge of public sector pension schemes. Third level qualification in business or relevant field. Principal Duties & Responsibilities Provide expert advice, support, and updates on theVoluntary Hospitals Superannuation Schemeand theSingle Public Service Pension Scheme, including relevant circulars and developments. Manage starters and leavers by assigning appropriate schemes, verifying prior service, and issuing documentation for leavers, covering service verification, unpaid leave, and contributions. Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures to support efficient Superannuation Services. Implement circulars from the Dept. of Health & Children, the HSE, and the Dept. of Public Expenditure & Reform regarding pension schemes and the Ex-Gratia Scheme. Audit superannuation activities regularly to enhance controls and systems. Coordinate with Finance/Payroll to manage net refunds for eligible VHSS/SPSPS members. Complete and submit annual/quarterly superannuation returns to the HSE/DPER, as required. Ensure VHSS/SPSPS pensioners complete annual declaration forms per Hospital requirements. Oversee benefit estimates, annual statements, and pension benefit applications for various retirement grounds. Complete Verification of Service forms and maintain records for all members. Maintain confidentiality and liaise with relevant organizations and legal representatives on superannuation matters. Prepare monthly HSE reports on absenteeism, census data, and other HR/Finance metrics. Reconcile and maintain accurate pension data and calculation systems.
