My client a leading company in its categories- a global FMCG company but with a collaborative tight knit culture here in the Irish Operation and due to continued success are now looking for an ambitious Senior National Account Manager to join the Business. This is a fantastic opportunity with a company that has iconic brands and great people in place. Declan, an experienced country manager, said "Denis we had a fantastic last 18 months- we are up over 23% with the Retailers! but there are challenges and as we look to change our route to market- I am looking for someone who has experience of partnering with either Retailers or indeed Discounters- but must have NAM FMCG experience- can build the relationships; is driven by success and can essentially tell me what to do!"
Key Responsibilities:
1. Closely monitor individual account performance and report any issues in a timely manner to the business. Constantly review and adapt the plan to ensure targets are hit.
2. Develop & manage the annual Promotional Calendar & Budget in conjunction with the Finance Team with particular focus on pricing and margin and to ensure seamless in market execution and alignment with the Group’s Marketing Strategy.
3. Ensure accurate completion and submission of all Promotional Proposals to relevant customer trading teams in a timely manner according to the agreed customer promotional plans.
4. Secure listings for all NPD in a timely manner with each customer.
5. Ensure accurate completion and submission of any New Line Forms and Product Set Up data to relevant customer trading teams in a timely manner according to the agreed NPD, Relaunch & Seasonal plans.
6. Negotiate and manage agreed Pricing Strategy with each customer. Respond to internal and external queries as they arise. Ensure individual price files are maintained to minimize invoice discrepancies.
7. Produce accurate volume forecasts for promotional activity to deliver industry standard Service Levels.
8. Challenge Category Planograms for each account to ensure maximum & appropriate distribution.
Key Requirements:
1. Be financially and commercially savvy and have a collaborative/team approach.
2. At least 4-5 years FMCG experience as a National Account Manager within the FMCG sector (Convenience experience is a must).
3. Be both tactical and strategic in approach and have strong negotiation and influencing skills.
4. Strong IT skills, in particular on Excel, and have strong analytical skills.
