DB DBA/Developer – Hybrid
This is a hybrid contract requiring at least one on-site day per week (increasing to two days in the future).
The Role
We are seeking a talented DB DBA/Developer with deep experience in database schema change management, automation tools, and database administration.
Key Responsibilities:
* Set up, configure, and manage tools to handle concurrent schema changes made by multiple projects.
* Administer tools like Liquibase, Flyway, TOAD, and Redgate to manage DDL/DML changes.
* Manage and maintain Oracle and/or MS SQL Server databases.
* Write and optimize PL/SQL and MS SQL Server code for database processes.
* Use tools like Git or Bitbucket for collaborative development and version management.
* Implement automated deployment and configuration using Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
Requirements
* Proven experience managing and merging database changes across multiple concurrent projects.
* Hands-on experience configuring and administering tools like Liquibase, Flyway, TOAD, or Redgate.
* Strong background in Oracle PL/SQL and/or MS SQL Server development.
* Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools and CI/CD automation practices.
* Proficiency with Git or Bitbucket for managing collaborative development efforts.
* Ability to collaborate across multiple teams to ensure seamless schema management and deployment processes.
Preferred Qualifications
* Minimum 6 years of experience with Python scripting for automation.
* Git/Bitbucket for version control.
* Oracle/MS SQL Server administration.
* PL/SQL development or strong working knowledge of PL/SQL.
* At least 5 years of experience using tools like Liquibase, Flyway, TOAD, or Redgate.
* Experience in Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef for CI/CD deployments.
