Main Purpose of the Job
This position will be responsible for providing direct support to the Diagnostics business unit. Although based in Dublin, the role will also support our sites in the US (Gardner & Louisville), Lelystad (Netherlands), and Staad (Switzerland). The role will be the key point of contact for the commercial & operational teams of the division. The person will be instrumental in the strategic vision of our Diagnostics business unit and support their day-to-day business matters as well as long-term projects.
Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities
1. Establishing a strong working relationship with the business unit commercial and operational teams. Instigating a regular finance reporting & analysis cadence.
2. Developing a rigorous understanding of customer and product profitability.
3. Working with the financial accounting and commercial teams to provide month-end reporting packages including an in-depth understanding of performance drivers and KPIs.
4. Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends, analyzing variances, and supporting gap closing measures.
5. Implement and lead the regular forecasting/budget cycle for the Life Sciences business unit. Provide the group finance team with a clear understanding and trajectory of the division.
6. Provide robust challenge to the business during planning processes.
7. Lead the capex process in close collaboration with operational teams.
8. Support Diagnostics business plans as needed.
9. Supporting further development of the SAP ecosystem alongside the IS team to improve the speed and accuracy of reporting.
10. In tandem with the wider FP&A team, support data download, analysis, and improvement of offline reporting tools.
11. Work closely with the business to assist in the control and optimization of inventory levels and working capital overall.
12. Champion finance throughout the wider organization. Deliver a high-quality finance provision leading to high levels of trust in finance within the business.
13. Ensure consistency and accuracy of key business planning deliverables.
14. Provide accurate gross margin reporting to understand customer and product profitability and identify commercial opportunities.
15. Drive focus on P&L efficiency and Cash Conversion rate.
16. Half-year forecast and Budget.
17. Cashflow forecast (monthly).
Minimum Requirements
1. University degree in Business and/or Accounting.
2. +5 years working in an FP&A/Group environment.
3. Understanding of working in a complex divisional structure of an international business.
4. An understanding of manual ERP data mining.
5. Solid interpersonal and communication skills in a senior management environment.
6. Day-to-day experience of SAP.
7. Comfortable extracting and working with large data sets.
8. Positive attitude, capable, energetic, analytical with a solid understanding of accounting.
9. Need to understand group business processes.
10. Power BI experience.
11. Knowledge in Pharmaceutical/Bio-Tech/Medical Device.
This role is offered on a hybrid basis, working from our site in Dublin, Ireland, as well as travel to the other sites mentioned in the job description.
