Role Description:
This is a full-time position based on-site in The Park Hotel, Dungarvan. As a Night Supervisor, you will oversee the operations of the hotel during the night and will be responsible for the security of the hotel and the safety of our guests overnight. During your shift, you will prepare meeting and private dining rooms to agreed standards and to guests’ specifications for the following day. The Night Supervisor will manage the night shift staff by providing guidance, assigning tasks, and monitoring performance.
Role Responsibilities:
* Report all potential and real hazards immediately.
* Ensure you have a well-founded understanding of all hotel policies.
* Inspect all areas of the hotel regularly, recording same, and report irregularities to relevant HODs and maintenance.
* Ensure all access to the hotel is secure as required by hotel policy and procedure.
* Be fully conversant with all departmental Fire and Emergency procedures.
* Attend all fire, health, and safety training on-site and online.
* Ensure your team is fully trained and compliant with Health & Safety legislation.
* Ensure the safety of the guests and the property by strict adherence to existing laws and hotel policies & procedures, and reporting any possible hazards and conditions to the General Manager.
* Have an overall awareness of Health and Safety in relation to all tasks and activities undertaken in the department.
* Complete any accident/incident reports and distribute to relevant departments promptly.
* Record any unusual occurrences or problems arising to the Duty Manager's attention for the next day and take appropriate action.
* Communicate, work with, and build a good working relationship with the Front Office Day team to ensure a consistent level of service is offered throughout the hotel 24 hours a day.
* As a team, ensure that guest areas and offices are always clean and tidy.
* In conjunction with the Accommodation Manager, clean public area carpets on a regular basis, with additional cleaning as and when required.
* Check in late arrivals and check out early departures in line with hotel procedures.
* Ensure that wake-up calls are made promptly.
* Take room service orders, prepare the food and drinks, and deliver to guests.
* Provide service in the Bar after the late shift team members have finished their shift.
* Handle all cashing up in line with existing hotel SOPs.
* Assist guests with any requests e.g., information, making bookings, directions.
* Ensure all tasks are completed on each shift and that a full and thorough handover takes place at the end of the shift.
Qualifications:
* 1 year of experience working at hotel night shift operations and handling customer complaints and inquiries.
* Proficiency in hotel reservation and payment systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications – Desirable.
* First aid, Defib & manual handling training completed – Desirable.
