A key role has become available for a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to lead our team in West Cork. Our company is known for producing a diverse range of food products, with an output of 250-300 items in various formats.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop production schedules to meet customer delivery deadlines within allocated resources.
* Promote continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste through Lean Manufacturing principles.
* E nsure adherence to quality standards (BRC) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations.
* Monitor performance metrics and address areas for improvement.
* Coordinate equipment maintenance to minimize downtime.
* Lead supervisors and operators to achieve production goals while maintaining a culture of safety, quality, and collaboration.
* Manage team performance, conduct reviews, and implement training programs.
* Foster open communication and promptly address performance or safety concerns.
* Ensure compliance with HACCP principles, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and BRC standards.
* Oversee quality control procedures and collaborate with the Quality team to resolve production issues.
* Stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory updates.
* Collaborate with senior managers to maintain optimal raw material levels and minimize waste.
* Implement inventory control systems and monitor production yields.
Qualifications:
* 5+ years of experience in production management within the food or beverage industry.
* Proven expertise in operational efficiency and quality control (BRC, HACCP knowledge essential).
* Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
* Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles is beneficial.
