The Financial Accountant will be required to complete various tasks across different areas of the department. The primary duties will involve general ledger accounting of overheads, fixed assets, accruals, bank transactions, and intercompany recharge. The successful candidate will also assist with accounting for the companies’ investment portfolios and associated group and regulatory reporting requirements. They will work mostly in MS Excel, SAP Business One (our general ledger software), SAP-BFC group reporting tool, and IntegraLynx (the investment reporting software).
Key to this role is the ability to learn quickly and ask questions in order to improve knowledge of the processes in place and suggest efficiency improvements where these are possible. Confident and assertive communication skills are essential.
Candidates should be fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensuring timely and accurate recording of the company overheads and monthly/quarterly reporting of the same.
* Processing of invoices in Glantus and executing weekly payment runs.
* Uploading all relevant data to SAP Business One general ledger and reconciliation of same.
* Assisting with completion of various bank account administration.
* Administration of the company credit cards and management of employee expenses in Rydoo.
* Supporting in the preparation of the overhead expense annual business plan and review of actual v budget overhead expenses on a monthly basis.
* Assisting in monthly and quarterly accounting and reporting for the company investment portfolios.
* Producing and improving the monthly and quarterly summary reports to management.
* Preparing and filing VAT returns on a bi-monthly basis.
* Generating regular visual reports and dealing with ad hoc requests.
* Experience working in the insurance/financial services industries highly beneficial.
* Ability to work with Microsoft Office (specifically MS Excel).
* Ability to prioritise tasks and work under own initiative to achieve objectives.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information in a clear and concise fashion.
* Understanding of Solvency II, IFRS 9 and IFRS 17 would be beneficial.
