The laboratory is fully accredited by the Irish National accreditation Board, Reg no 153MT and the Hospital is JCI accredited.The Haematology Laboratory at BSH Cork provides routine haematology and specialised diagnostic services to the hospital and to outpatients. Serving a Medical Assessment Unit, acute and elective admissions, and a busy surgical programme, in excess of 100,000 requests for blood testing are received annually. The diagnostic haematology service provided includes full blood counts and blood film examination and routine coagulation screening. Specialised diagnostic services support the diagnosis and management of Haematological Cancers and supports the hospitals extensive oncology service.
