We are looking for a retail sales assistant, ideally with strong initiative and teamwork skills, knowledge of building materials/hardware, and strong customer service skills. The ideal candidate will be an all-rounder and have experience within the industry.
The Retail Assistant will be responsible for dealing with the day-to-day sales enquiries/transactions and maintaining high standards of customer care while working in a busy store.
JOB SPECIFICATION
1. Respond to sales enquiries either by phone or over the counter, provide advice, information, and quotations to ensure the maximum level of sales and margin.
2. Process transactions and handle cash.
3. Offer alternative products, up-sell where possible, promote own brands and cross-brand sales.
4. Understand customers' expectations and needs.
5. Assist with branch deliveries as required.
6. Keep customers updated on orders and deliveries.
7. Monitor quotations won/lost.
8. Monitor customer orders and deliveries.
9. Stay updated with product knowledge.
10. Adhere to health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations.
11. Perform any other reasonable duties which may arise.
12. Be goal-driven with a can-do attitude.
13. Have previous customer-facing experience.
14. Be extremely customer-focused and results-driven.
15. Maintain a flexible approach to work.
16. Possess sales experience and product knowledge in building materials.
