Purpose Contributes to the overall success of the Fixed Income Rates sales division, covering clients in Europe ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.
Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Accountabilities Champions a client focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Responsible for the Distribution of Fixed Income Products clients in Europe.
This function is charged with the distribution of products traded in London, Dublin, as well as other Scotia trading hubs, including growing Canadian Fixed income product international distribution, FX, SSA new issue offering, US Fixed Income & supporting Latam EM and Equity products.
Develop, maintain and refine people skills, product knowledge and interpersonal skills that are key to the role and maximize cross sell opportunities.
Demonstrate high quality communication skills and information flow between Sales, Research, DCM, Trading & Senior management.
Work closely with management to optimize balance sheet usage, efficient use of capital, maximizing client value, creating positive returns & increasing business profitability.
Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Code of Conduct.
Contributes to a high-performance environment and fosters an inclusive work environment; supporting the vison/values/business strategy for the team.
This role requires successful completion of the NFA Swaps Proficiency Requirement within 30 days of assuming the role and must be completed prior to engaging in in-scope activity.
The role has been identified as a Central Bank of Ireland prescribed Controlled Function.
The incumbent is therefore required to have the relevant fitness and probity to carry out the role and responsibilities in such a manner that the incumbent can comply with the Central Bank of Ireland 2011 Fitness & Probity Standards, as applicable to the role.
In general, the Fitness & Probity Standards require the role holder to: (a) be competent and capable; (b) act honestly, ethically and with integrity; and (c) be financially sound.

Stay abreast of all regulatory, compliance & operational matters related to our business.
Assist management and colleagues with timely call reports & relevant market intelligence.
Assist in the continued development of our SIDAC Capital Markets Platform including e-delivery of our product suite.
A broad product knowledge of FI instruments and macro developments in the marketplace including futures, IRS, government bonds (nominal and inflation), supra and sovereign bonds, repo functionality.
Maximize all FICC and Equity cross sell opportunities, CMF in particular.
Coordinate coverage for European clients with our LatAm EM team and other cross sell opportunities.
Education / Experience It is essential to have a Continental European language and the corresponding experience of local client coverage (e.g.
French & France, Dutch & the Netherlands, a Scandinavian language and Scandi coverage etc.)
Previous experience in a similar position at a Fixed Income and Derivative dealer.
Client relationships and Market relationships that will support the development of the platform.
Awareness of the industry, the products and the evolving regulatory landscape.
