What You Will Do
You will be a master multitasker, planning and implementing technical support solutions and projects to assist the plant in meeting KPIs. Excellent communication skills are required as you will work with many departments and external entities to accomplish goals.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical support to the product manufacturing team to meet production targets.
* Design and manage process improvement projects.
* Assist in product development/improvement projects.
* Transfer of new products from other Abbott sites.
* Participate in laboratory maintenance programs.
* Identify and implement cost reductions.
Qualifications/Experience
A third-level qualification in a scientific or technical field is desired or a relevant combination of education and experience. Relevant post-graduate qualifications are also advantageous. Two years' experience in the development or support of diagnostic assays are required, along with strong communication skills.
Leadership and Team Environment
This role reports to Donna Kennedy, one of our Technical Product Managers. You will join her team of 20+ that includes Technical Support Team Leaders, Principal Scientists, Technical Leaders, Technical Support Specialists, and Associate Technical Support Scientists. Her leadership style focuses on collaboration, morale, and motivation.
