An opportunity is now available for an experienced Site Safety Coordinator to be part of a strong safety team responsible for overseeing and managing all safety aspects of multiple construction projects/works within a large pharmaceutical plant.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and promoting a safe working environment for all personnel on site.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field. Relevant certifications and training in safety management.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety, with a proven track record of working on large pharmaceutical or similar complex industrial site.
* In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations, construction safety practices, and risk management principles.
* Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or CSP are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
* Safety Management: Develop, implement, and monitor safety management systems and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, regulations, and guidelines. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in safety regulations and industry standards.
* Safety Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
* Incident Investigation: Support safety deviation/incident investigations, and near misses, and provide detailed reports and recommendations for preventing future occurrences.
* Review safety documentation and general permit to work raised.
* Training and Induction: Develop and deliver safety training programs and site inductions for all contractors.
* Safety Meetings: Organize and lead regular safety meetings and toolbox talks to communicate safety updates, best practices, and project-specific safety information.
* Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement appropriate measures to control identified risks.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records, including incident reports, inspection records, and training documentation.
* Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate safety into all aspects of the construction process.
