Job DescriptionWe have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Cost Manager to join our Industrial, Science and Technology team in Dublin.Key ResponsibilitiesWorking as part of a team focused on estimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plansAssisting with tendering and procurement activity, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing the tender list, preliminaries, tender analysis, tender report and compiling the contractual documentsAssisting with timely and accurate cost checks and valuationsProducing monthly post contract cost reports and presenting them to the clientParticipate effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processesContribute to cost risk analysis and provide input into value engineeringHelp to maintain central feedback and learning on cost estimating from prospects and projects and contribute to updating of best practices in estimatingInterfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stagesEstablish strong working relationship with clients and key stakeholders Proactive and ambitious to support the delivery of cost management services on challenging project and programmes. Role will suit an individual who feels comfortable working as part of a large team or acting independently as the key day to day contact point with the client and design team, with support from the wider cost management team. Undertaking reporting / analysisKnowledge, Skills and ExperienceCost planning – all project stages Benchmarking of costs Report writing Understanding of methods of construction and procurementValue Management and Engineering Good problem-solving capability Collaborative approach, able to develop strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, internally and externally.Good organization skillsTechnical knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical services is preferred, particularly in the following sectors: Data centres, Life Sciences, Pharma, Biotech or other related facility asset typesQualificationsRelevant Quantity Surveying qualification accredited by the RICS/SCSI or equivalent is preferredCompetency in utilizing computer software for cost planning and contract administration would be beneficial. Strong experience with spreadsheets and databases.Good command of software as Costx, MS Suite, Bluebeam would be preferredAbility to operate in a fast-paced environment to manage client expectations and deliver high quality service. Role will suit a highly motivated individual who is an ambitious and is looking for an opportunity to develop personally with a clear path for progression.
