Project Manager
Successfully lead and manage medium sized projects with more than one stakeholder both internally and externally. Act as the single point of contact for the client for all aspects related to the project, from governance oversight to reporting and ensure excellence in project management is delivered throughout the life cycle of the project.
Role Responsibilities:
* Independently lead medium sized projects with medium to high levels of complexity.
* Lead the project mobilization effort and network internally and with the client to ensure timely availability of equipment, materials, and drive to resolution any special considerations that may be required such as access to 3rd party capability, safety items, quality level, external licensing. Co-ordinate timely project start and team allocation.
* Build cohesive project teams through regular effective communications, issue resolution, clarity of responsibilities, self-awareness, and team recognition/morale.
* Define project deliverables and with the Project Technical Lead input, create the project plan. Where necessary co-ordinate client workshops to define the project deliverables.
* Proactively manage adherence to the plan, resolve issues and escalate where necessary. Maintain a close connection with the Project Technical Lead and support them in the resolution of issues that arise.
* Manage Project budget control to ensure project adherence to Budget/FTE/timeline. Manage invoicing, Extension vs overrun and write, justify, and drive approval of Change Order requests.
* Support and lead all governance and progress reporting related aspects of the project, both internal and external.
* Maintain a strong technical and commercial awareness, actively seeking opportunities by leveraging listening and questioning skills to deliver increased value through the life cycle of the project. Work with the Market Manager and BDD to capture and successfully position this additional project value to the client.
Role Requirements:
* PhD/MSc/BSc in Chemistry or Bioscience or PhD/BE/ME Chemical Engineering or related area.
* PMP or PRINCE2 or similar Project Management Qualification desirable.
* Minimum of 3 years’ industry experience in technical or project management (if PhD qualified); or
* Minimum of 5 years’ industry experience in technical or project management (if MSc/BSc qualified).
* Evidenced track record in project management of pharmaceutical process design projects.
* Technical experience in fields such as process chemistry, chemical engineering, biologics or analytics.
* Proven track record in internal and external technical communication.
