Job Title: Project Lead – Packaging CAPEX Projects
Role Overview:
Candidate will be responsible for the delivery of the Packaging Portfolio of Capital Projects within the Cork Manufacturing Site. This is a project management role with a focus on capital projects related to packaging equipment and systems.
Purpose:
Support the business in building the investment strategy and delivering capital investments within the Packaging Operations Area. This means ensuring that approved projects are executed efficiently and effectively.
Leadership Responsibilities:
The role requires strong leadership skills. The individual will lead the Packaging CAPEX project group, coordinate the work of Professional Services (PS) resources, and manage cross-functional project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Solution Definition: Identify the most appropriate technical solution for each Packaging Project derived from the PMO Portfolio.
* Project Scope Definition: Clearly define the boundaries and objectives of each packaging project.
* Vendor Management: Identify, engage with, and select potential vendors for equipment and services. Includes tender coordination and contract management.
* Capital Application Preparation: Prepare the necessary documentation to secure funding approval for projects.
* Scheduling: Develop and maintain project timelines.
* Procurement: Develop and execute procurement packages and associated engagement contracts for the projects.
* Cost Management: Control project budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness.
* Project Reporting: Provide regular updates on project progress and status to site governance and stakeholders.
* Coordination: Oversee all aspects of the project, ensuring effective utilization of PS resources.
Education & Experience Requirements:
* Degree in a relevant engineering/science discipline
* Experience with high-speed packaging equipment and technologies across multiple pack formats
* Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical packaging, process manufacturing, OEE, MTBF, and root cause failure analysis
* Project and portfolio management experience across the project lifecycle in a Pharmaceutical/GMP environment
* Experience managing cross-functional teams and projects within a GMP manufacturing environment
* Understanding of Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements in the pharmaceutical industry
* Strong understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)

* Tablet handling / counting
* Bottling
* Cartoning
* Labelling
* Vial handling
* Printing & vision systems
