Job Description About this job: We are seeking a technically strong and solution-oriented Software Engineer to join our IT Underwriting Non-Life Unit, which is part of the Group IT department and responsible for all applications in the underwriting area (Pricing & Modelling, Capacity & Exposure Management, Portfolio Management & Optimization).
In this role you will be responsible for the development of our applications in the Pricing area, from design and development to testing, and last but not least for the support.
This position includes not only software development, but also analysis of the requirements and specification design.
Reporting to the Head of Underwriting Non-Life Applications your responsibilities will include: Software Design and Development: Study information needs, system flows, data usage and work processes Investigate problem areas in cooperation with the Business Experts Produce the required documentation (screen layout, business rules & other) Develop and maintain software applications Solution Testing, Installation and Support: Define and execute unit and regression tests User support during acceptance tests Ensure functionality and performance Prepare the installation of the solutions including the CI/CD pipelines Create and maintain technical documentation Provide second level support Operations Improvements: Conduct systems analysis and recommend changes Qualifications About you: At least 5 years experience as a Software Engineer designing & developing solutions Proficiency in .NET programming (C#, WPF), MS SQL Server (T-SQL), Angular Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum Knowledge of cloud security best practices and tools, particularly in Azure Familiar with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines Analytical and highly motivated to understand our business processes Good communication and language skills in English (proficient verbal and in writing) Ability to work effectively both within a team and also independently Driven towards finding solutions and being responsive A university degree or equivalent in IT/Computer Science Experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry is a plus What can we offer you: An international environment, where you will work in a team of experienced Software Engineers based in Dublin, Paris, Stamford and Zurich, and can learn from reinsurance specialists (Pricing Actuaries, Cat Researchers and Underwriters).
