Talent based in the new technology hub will be charged with developing and implementing best-in-class standards for high-quality, scalable software deliveries for SiriusXM’s streaming and in-vehicle audio entertainment platforms.How You’ll Make an Impact:As a Senior SDET, you will play a crucial role in defining, implementing, and executing test strategies that support SiriusXM’s high standards of quality. You will lead complex automation efforts, work independently to solve sophisticated testing challenges, and serve as a mentor to junior team members. Your technical expertise will contribute significantly to ensuring product reliability and enhancing the overall quality engineering strategy.What You’ll Do:Leadership in Test Strategy and AutomationDefine, implement, and maintain backend automated test suites for both new and existing functionality, primarily using Java and Rest Assured.Set and enforce script quality standards, leading the team in adopting best practices in test automation.Build, enhance, and maintain automation frameworks to automate critical user scenarios, improving test coverage and reliability.Solve complex automation challenges with minimal supervision, driving innovation in test processes and methodologies.Technical Expertise and Problem SolvingPerform automated and non-functional testing, covering performance, stability, and compatibility assessments.Generate comprehensive test plans, execute them effectively, and ensure high-quality, timely test results.Participate actively in technical discussions, design reviews, and provide insights to enhance testability and product quality.Collaborate closely with engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, contributing to a robust testing infrastructure.Mentorship and Team DevelopmentMentor junior team members, sharing expertise in scripting, test automation, and debugging techniques.Lead tech talks and knowledge-sharing sessions, promoting continuous learning within the Quality Engineering team.Provide feedback and guidance to peers, supporting their technical development and encouraging best practices across projects.Innovation and Process ImprovementProactively identify areas for improvement in test automation, advocating for and implementing process enhancements.Stay updated on new tools, frameworks, and methodologies that could optimize testing efforts, incorporating them into team practices.Collect and report quality metrics from test executions, using insights to drive continuous improvement in quality engineering processes.What You’ll Need:Educational Background and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience in Quality Engineering.5-7 years of experience in test automation, with a strong background in backend automation and Java.Technical ExpertiseProficiency in backend automation frameworks, especially Java, Rest Assured, and familiarity with Unix and shell scripting.Strong understanding of SDLC, CI/CD processes, and experience with tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and cloud environments (e.g., AWS).Experience with all layers of application testing, including front-end, service layer, and back-end connections.Soft SkillsExcellent communication skills, with experience presenting complex information to a general audience.Demonstrated ability to mentor team members and lead by example in fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.Our goal at SiriusXM is to provide and maintain a work environment that fosters mutual respect, professionalism and cooperation.
