Our client, a leading manufacturing company based in Co. Cavan, are seeking an experienced Sourcing & Procurement Specialist to join their company.
Your new job
As the Sourcing & Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing of materials, identifying and managing suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement of goods. You will negotiate contracts, enhance supply chain operations and ensure compliance with policies/procedures.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful sourcing and supplier management and the ability to drive cost savings and build strong supplier relationships.
This is a permanent position, working week Monday–Friday fully onsite.
Key duties & responsibilities:
1. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on cost, quality, service, and reliability.
2. Build & maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
3. Oversee supplier performance reviews.
4. Research market trends and industry best practices to drive sourcing improvements.
5. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers.
6. Work closely with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
7. Monitor inventory/stock levels.
8. Ensure all sourcing activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations.
9. Compile reports on supplier performance.
10. Track and report cost savings and sourcing efficiency improvements.
11. International travel will be required – flexibility required.
12. Full Irish Driving License – essential.
What are we looking for?
1. 3rd level qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related discipline.
2. At least 2 years procurement, or supply chain management experience.
3. Knowledge of procurement software (SAP, Oracle, Ariba, or similar).
4. Understanding of supplier, contract management and supplier negotiations.
5. Strong negotiation and communication skills.
6. Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
7. Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS, CPP) are a plus.
8. International travel will be required – flexibility required.
9. Full Irish Driving License – essential.
