At The Contributor, our core purpose is to eliminate homelessness and create community. As a Housing Stability Guide, you will provide support to unhoused adults during their transition into stable housing. This role requires compassion and creativity to partner with individuals to navigate complex barriers to housing stability and to secure long-term community support. Our approach uses an evidence-based model of care called Critical Time Intervention to reduce the risk of returning to homelessness.
Job Responsibilities
Support and Engagement: Establish and maintain supportive, non-judgmental relationships with individuals, partnering with them to navigate five key areas: mental health, physical health, financial management, employment opportunities, substance abuse management, and crisis intervention.
Community Connection: Partner with recently unhoused individuals in creating lasting linkages to community supports, emphasizing a holistic approach to stability and well-being that extends beyond the immediate transition period.
Advocacy and Coordination: Serve as a strong advocate for client needs, coordinating effectively with service providers and community resources to facilitate access to necessary services.
Training and Development: Complete Critical Time Intervention training, HMIS training, and other relevant professional development as directed, to improve the support provided to individuals.
Qualifications
Education: Undergraduate degree preferred but not required; certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist is a bonus.
Experience: At least one year experience in a related role preferred, with a strong foundation in harm reduction and trauma-informed practices. Training in Motivational Interviewing preferred.
Transportation: Must possess a valid TN driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and have a vehicle available for daily use, including for transporting individuals.
Communication and Organizational Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to prioritize work, manage multiple responsibilities, and work independently.
Additional Information
Salary: $46,000 annually; full-time position.
