Job Objectives
We are seeking applications for the role of Designated Safeguarding Officer. This position involves co-ordinating the ongoing development and implementation of Safeguarding and complaints policies and procedures within Nua Healthcare Services.
This includes:
* Live our Mission, Vision and Values.
* Ensure that the standard reporting procedure is always followed.
* Effective reporting internally and externally of all Safeguarding concerns.
* Liaise with relevant HSE Safeguarding and Protections Teams per CHO Area and An Garda Siochana in relation to Safeguarding concerns raised, where required.
* Obtain sufficient documentation to complete a preliminary screening on all allegations.
* Liaise with Person in Charge to develop safeguarding plans.
* Liaise with Director of Services, relevant Multi-Disciplinary Team Members and/or delegate to ensure that Clinical Supports are in place for the individuals where required.
* Communicate with Director of Services, relevant Multi-Disciplinary Team Members and/or delegate safeguarding plans and actions to be discussed at clinical meeting and follow up on all actions.
* To properly investigate, record and act as required in all matters pertaining to Safeguarding issues.
* Ensure that an up-to-date register relating to Safeguarding, Comments, Complaints and Compliments is maintained of all allegations/concerns raised.
* Liaising with Directors of Operations in relation to any comments/concerns/complaints raised.
* Sending written acknowledgements in response to any complaints.
* Completing investigation reports in relation to any complaints/concerns raised.
* Ensuring policies relating to comments/compliments/complaints are updated regularly.
* Obtaining sufficient documentation to complete investigation report on concerns/complaints raised.
* Ensure that an up-to-date register is maintained of all complaints/concerns raised.
* Ensure that the register of all complaints/concerns is sent to Management on a weekly basis.
* Liaising with the relevant bodies in investigating all complaints/concerns raised.
* Attending weekly Safeguarding Review Meetings/Refresher Training and Site Visits, where required.
* Facilitating Safeguarding Training to Team Members, where required.
Skills Requirement
Qualifications:
* Level 7/8 Degree or working towards degree in Social Studies (or suitable equivalent qualification with a management qualification in healthcare).
Knowledge:
* Knowledge of standards and legislation relevant to the area.
Experience:
* Experience in a similar role.
