Description of Role:
Our Client is an international charity organisation, based in Dublin 2 with offices globally. They are now seeking a Finance Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will provide financial assistance to the regional senior vice president finance.
The Finance Assistant will support the management, control, and reporting on all financial aspects including various grants and fundraising activities that have been secured from the EU, Foundations, and other stakeholders across the Europe Eurasia region and globally.
Requirements:
1. Minimum 3 years’ experience in finance/accounts administration role or related field
2. Finance related qualification required (e.g., accounting technician)
3. Strong financial project management skills
4. Excellent verbal communication skills
5. Must be highly skilled in Microsoft software
6. Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
7. Fluency in English and/or other languages
8. Ability to work on own initiative
9. Willingness to travel as required
10. An interest in the charity industry is an advantage
11. Passionate and empathetic
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Handle e-mail queries relating to financial activity
2. Respond promptly to requests for payments, reimbursement of expenditure, information, and/or assistance
3. Assist with administration duties associated with the work of grants
4. Assist in the co-ordination and maintenance of all documentation in relation to all grants
5. Assist Vice President with grant financial tasks and financial reporting requirements
6. Liaise with National Programs in relation to grant application and management and work with colleagues in relation to the same
7. Manage staff grant timesheets
8. Assist with administration, budgetary preparation, and bank payment duties associated with finance
9. Support Grant team with planning and performing the activities noted in grant agreements
10. Maintain the regional fixed asset inventory register
11. Support regional team with information technology software and hardware operational queries
12. Offer regional team with Human Resource and Data Privacy/Protection administration support
13. Other related ad hoc duties as required and assigned by the Senior Vice President Finance and Managing Director
