Role Summary
The Mechanical Engineer III will play a critical role in maintaining, improving, and optimising manufacturing and utility systems. This individual will lead engineering projects, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Mechanical Engineer III will enhance operational excellence through technical expertise and strategic problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the execution of engineering projects from conception to completion.
* Implement and oversee process and equipment improvement initiatives.
* Lead preventative and demand maintenance activities for manufacturing and utility equipment.
* Support manufacturing, utility, and facility project plans in collaboration with the Site Engineering Services Manager.
* Ensure compliance with legal, corporate, and safety standards for all manufacturing equipment.
* Develop and track monthly engineering metrics to drive operational improvements and cost savings.
* Prepare and manage capital expenditure requests for facility, plant, and equipment.
* Supervise external contractors, ensuring high-quality service and cost-effectiveness.
* Provide technical support for audits and regulatory compliance initiatives.
* Ensure continuous improvement through equipment and process upgrades.
* Drive sustainability and environmental management initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Biomedical, Electronics) or a related discipline.
* Minimum 5+ years of experience in Facility and Utility Engineering, preferably in a cGMP environment.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Desired Experience:
* Knowledge of Chilled Water, Boilers, Potable Water Distribution, Compressed Air Generation, LPHW, Building Management Systems (BMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and Building Safety Regulations.
* Experience managing budgets and cost improvement projects.
* Familiarity with CAPA planning and audit preparation.
