With a network of offices in Europe, Asia and the US and a multi-disciplined team of over 3,700 people, we deliver complex, capital projects in the life sciences, food and beverages, mission critical/ICT, advanced manufacturing, energy and environmental sectors.
Due to our on-going success securing large-scale projects for 2023 we have a requirement for Principal Structural Design Engineer to join our Structural Department in Cork. To be successful and to enjoy the challenge of this position, the role will suit an experienced Structural Engineer with design experience who has previously led large scale projects in the Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences and Mission Critical sectors (TIC > €100MM) from concept to completion.
Responsibilities
You will be located in the Cork office on a hybrid working basis. The role involves the following:
* Experience across a broad range of structural engineering projects; experience in industrial buildings (Pharmaceutical, Food or Energy projects) would be an advantage.
* Experience with managing a team of Engineers and Designers to develop structural packages for tender and construction.
* Coordination with other PM Group offices to understand the scope of work, deliverables, timelines, person hours, etc.
* Progress reporting and resource hour control for the Structural Scope.
* Experience with construction.
* A strong ethical approach to safety, quality, environmental protection and business.
* Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal/people skills with the ability to manage design personnel.
* A proven track record working closely in partnership with clients and contractors and other members of design teams.
* A proactive approach with an ability to adapt to changing scenarios.

You will have:
* A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent and ideally Chartered.
* Minimum 15 years post-graduate experience working for Engineering Consultancies.
* A keen interest in project delivery technology.
