Job Description:
A manufacturing company in Co. Cavan seeks an Electrical Tendering Engineer for a permanent position. The role involves preparing documents, creating cost estimates, evaluating project feasibility, and communicating with clients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare Necessary Documents: Create drawings, calculations, and cost estimates according to customer requirements.
2. Create Cost Estimates: Develop detailed estimates based on project specifications, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontracting.
3. Evaluate Project Feasibility: Assess the financial and manufacturing viability of projects.
4. Identify Commercial and Technical Risks: Recognize potential issues and provide effective solutions.
5. Communicate with Clients: Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers for necessary information and clarifications.
6. Attend Pre-bid Meetings: Participate in meetings and site visits as required.
7. Transfer Winning Tenders: Transfer successful bids to Customer Service, noting milestones, risks, and non-standard aspects.
8. Ensure Tender Documentation: Guarantee accurate, complete, and timely submission of tender documentation.
9. Provide Technical Support: Offer technical assistance during evaluation and negotiation phases.
10. Conduct Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, competitors, and business opportunities.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's Degree: Possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or a related field).
2. Certifications: Hold relevant certifications in project management or cost estimation, if available.
3. Experience: Have 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the engineering or construction sector.
4. Engineering Knowledge: Possess in-depth understanding of engineering principles and construction methods.
5. Tendering Software: Be skilled in using tendering and cost estimation software.
6. Project Management Tools: Familiarity with project management tools and practices.
7. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse complex project specifications and create precise cost estimates.
8. Problem-Solving: Skilled in identifying potential issues and offering effective solutions.
