Supply Chain & Retail
Supply Chain Services provides both pre-wholesale and wholesale distribution of pharmaceutical, healthcare and animal health products to pharmacies and hospital nationwide. The business supports a diverse customer base through the provision of strong service levels coupled with innovative commercial initiatives. In addition, the business provides services and supports that help independent community pharmacy to compete more effectively in an increasingly difficult environment and runs a network of Uniphar-owned pharmacies under the Life, Allcare, McCauleys and Hickeys symbol brands.
Pharma – On Demand
The On-Demand business is a specialist medical supply business that sources and distributes pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, and consumable supplies to healthcare professionals in over 160 countries worldwide. We have offices in Ireland, UK, Europe, USA and New Zealand. The company’s main divisions encompass everything from International Sales through Sales to NGO’s and Charities, Clinical Trials Supply, Imported (Unlicensed Medicines), Sexual Health Supplies, and the storage and distribution of medical products and devices for third parties .

Working as a part of the Commercial team, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving the commercial buying strategy for our Beauty & Personal Categories for our 200+ retail pharmacy estate.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Development of the commercial strategy for our Beauty & Front of Shop categories
2. Promotional cycle development for Symbol pharmacies
3. To represent commercial team at the weekly trade meetings and to be an active participant.
4. Working with Uniphar Consumer team to source and range best in class products for the Symbol pharmacies
5. Reviewing promotions performance and providing insights to our management team
6. Ensure the roll-out of planograms and associated support documents
7. Responsible for the communication of all commercial strategies to our Operations teams
8. Developing/managing supplier relationships in order to deliver JBP and planogram compliance
9. Use of the BI reporting suite to provide greater insights into category and range performance to help support decision making
10. To be a representative of the commercial support team at trade shows & supplier events
11. Work closely with the Operations team to develop our relationship with our symbol & franchise members to support driving their business.
Day to day responsibilities include:
12. Contributing to the day to day running of the Commercial buying team
13. Ensuring our group sales, margin & JBP budgets are achieved
14. Responsible for stock of FOC categories in owned estate, managing dead/over/dated stock and supporting the stores with sell through as required
15. Updating the Commercial Manager regularly on department development
16. Taking an active role in the weekly commercial team meetings
17. Ensuring suppliers are met in a timely manner and prioritized according to importance
18. Ensuring all retail pricing is aligned with department margin targets & market pricing on the database
19. Ensure database team have all relevant supplier & pricing information for categories
20. Building a robust promotions calendar, encompassing JBP agreements
21. Development of the category plans & strategies
22. Ensuring planograms are updated based on schedule
23. Attending trade shows where appropriate
24. Contributing relevant information for board packs for symbol updates
25. Ensuring Uniphar link up commercial strategies are communicated through our channels
26. Attending Uniphar commercial meetings weekly
27. Working closely with the Operations team to deliver our commercial strategy to our owned, franchise & symbol members
Key Skills & Experiences
28. Minimum 2+ years in a similar buying role
29. Pharmacy or Beauty buying experience desirable but not essential
30. Excellent numerical & analytical skills to include excellent computer literacy & comprehensive experience with all MS products such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc
31. Ability to work in a diverse, fast paced environment
