Position Summary
The Vice President of Finance for Global Supply Chain operations will be a Global Finance Business Partner & Leader supporting the end-to-end Global Supply Chain (GSC) Organization, inclusive of Manufacturing, Logistics and Distribution, Global Procurement (Direct and Indirect) and Global Quality and Regulatory. The role is Finance Business Partner to the Corporate Vice President of Manufacturing & Supply Chain and his leadership team, the Vice President of Global L&D, and the Corporate Vice-President of Global QARA. It is also a key role within the Global Supply Chain Senior Leadership Team in terms of developing, shaping and driving supply chain strategy. This position leads and manages a global finance team supporting manufacturing locations and distribution center across all time zones.
The position is responsible for financial leadership of Teleflex’s worldwide manufacturing plants, distribution networks and productivity initiatives related to GSC. The primary responsibility of this position is managing the financial reporting and control environment of all worldwide plants and distribution networks. This position will provide operations, corporate finance and business unit management with financial data and analyses as required for decision support and strategic direction. The Vice President Finance, GSC will champion strong financial management in all 16 plants and 24+ distribution centers and collaborate with both the corporate and division finance units, as well as plant controllers, to achieve it. They will be responsible for identifying key business and financial trends and developing action plans to position the company and its business units for profitable growth and efficiency. They will have direct responsibility for the Global Supply Chain P&L, balance sheet and inventory controls and costing.
Principal Responsibilities
* Drive, manage, and present critical financial deliverables for the GSC organization which will include the long-term strategic plan (3+ years), The Annual Operating Plan (1 year), interim forecasting cycles (3-5 per annum) and monthly actuals reporting (12 x per annum).
* Act as primary interface with worldwide operations and plant managers to report financial results and assure proper controls. Develop and implement procedures that ensure compliance and consistency across the business.
* Maintain and develop key performance measures and tracking systems (through standard work) for each site to measure P&L results, capital, inventory, and cost savings projects.
* Manage and coordinate Annual Standard Cost Roll for Teleflex.
* Advise senior management team regarding strategic initiatives (including footprint restructuring activities) and related risks and return. Fully participate in developing and driving the wider strategic goals for GSC.
* Contribute to Teleflex acquisitions and divestments by joining due diligence teams, participating in closings, and leading the manufacturing financial integration process.
* Perform an audit function, where needed, to assure reporting systems and processes are being followed on a consistent basis and within the company policies. Lead all compliance efforts including internal control and ethics policies.
* Drive the Finance transformation roadmap through a continuous improvement mindset, guidance and solutions for complex financial issues within the business, and standard work across all planning exercises.
* Lead a diverse group of people by sustaining an inclusive and empowered organization which is constantly developing and adapting to the current and emerging business needs.
* Actively drive key talent development through coaching, mentoring, development assignments and other formal / informal actions and systems.
Education / Experience Requirements
* Proven finance leader with 15+ years of progressively responsible financial and accounting leadership experience with global, manufacturing-driven organizations. The candidate will have ideally worked in a public company so will be familiar with the requirements of a publicly reporting organization.
* Degree in finance or accounting is required. An MBA and/or CPA is desirable.
* A track record managing change plus international experience.
* Extensive experience in a matrix management organization is a must.
* A career history that includes positions in control and financial analysis, as well as exposure to other financial disciplines, to include cost accounting, financial reporting and consolidation.
* Strong systems background and broad understanding of Global Supply Chain management.
* Proficiency with ERP, ERD system implementations (SAP or similar).
* Experience in a company known for having a “state-of-the-art” supply chain. Understand what is happening in Supply Chain – e.g., outsourcing/core competence - context and why - outside, best practice company experience.
* Six-Sigma and/or regimented process methodology experience is desirable, but not a requirement.
* Experience in a Medical Device organization is a plus.
* Must be fluent in English (Native or bilingual proficiency).
