Overview
The Private Equity Director is responsible for overseeing the NAV calculation process for Private Equity funds. Reporting directly to the Managing Director of Private Equity, the Director provides leadership and strategic direction for the assigned fund groups. The role involves driving the development and implementation of system, procedural, and operational enhancements to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of NAV calculations. The Private Equity Director serves as a key contact for ad-hoc client requests and issues, requiring a comprehensive understanding of the service requirements for Private Equity Fund Administration.
Responsibilities:
The following list outlines the core responsibilities, though the scope of tasks may evolve depending on client structure, client needs, and business requirements:
* Collaborate with a team of managers, directors, and managing directors to develop all aspects of their services.
* Provide leadership and strategic direction for assigned fund accounting groups.
* Participate in new client meetings, demonstrate software, discuss accounting and Private Equity issues, and present solutions tailored to client needs, with a focus on fund structures and traded products.
* Effectively manage multiple client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and service quality.
* Oversee all aspects of NAV production, including fee calculations, waterfall calculations, capital call and distribution calculations, investor notices/statements, profit and loss allocations, accounting for complex financial instruments, documentation review, and responding to ad-hoc client requests.
* Ensure the assigned Private Equity accounting group operates within a clearly defined, documented, and tested control environment.
* Contribute to the continuous development and enhancement of workflows and procedures, ensuring they reflect the evolving control environment.
* Resolve complex issues and take on special projects as assigned.
* Manage recruitment and performance evaluations for the Private Equity team.
* Foster a collaborative team environment and support team development and growth.
* Promote education and training opportunities for team members.
* Address employee concerns in collaboration with HR and the Managing Director group.
* Oversee the preparation and review of financial and regulatory reports.
* Develop and maintain relationships with client brokers, auditors, and legal counsel.
* Lead the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring a smooth conversion to the platform.
* Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal departments, including Fund Accounting, Investor Services, Quality Assurance, Client Servicing, Operations, and Compliance.
