Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and preparing manufacturing production schedules and departmental workflows, as well as negotiating favourable terms with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and prepare manufacturing production schedules and departmental workflows
* Negotiate favourable terms with suppliers, including volume discounts and contracts
* Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods and services
* Develop a weekly Master Production Schedule and schedule customer orders
* Manage cost reduction and inventory reduction projects to reach agreed targets
* Implement Kanban, Co Managed Inventory, and Vendor Managed Inventory systems
* Obtain quotations and lead times from suppliers
* Manage sourcing of raw material supply, including new supplier negotiation and agreements
* Measure and review supplier performance, including quality issues and Purchase Price Variance
* Hold quarterly business reviews with key suppliers
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and knowledge:
* Diploma or degree in a business or technical discipline
* APICS CPIM and/or IIPMM Cert/Dip qualification (desirable)
* At least 3 years' experience in Buyer/Planner in a manufacturing environment
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
* Excellent communication and analytical skills
* Advanced user of MS Excel
