Head of Waste Operations
This role will work within the environmental business division of Veolia and will involve the management of Hazardous Waste Operations including Transfer Station operations and administration, Haulage and 3rd Party Outlet Management.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Management of Transfer Station Operations including yard operations, compliance, administration, and laboratory
* Management and optimisation of day-to-day waste disposal cost
* Key contributor to development of strategic direction of Haz waste business in coordination with RD and senior Veolia Ireland staff
* Health and Safety responsibility for the site
* Management of haulage subcontractors
* Management and Development of Hazardous Waste 3rd party outlets in Ireland, UK and Europe
* Continuous Improvement of systems and procedures in Waste Management - both in Transfer Station and in Haulage/Outlets supply chain
* Optimisation and development of Salesforce and integration into administration processes across the business
* Identify, implement and drive investment in Fermoy to increase treatment scope and capacity of haz waste within Veolia
* Leadership of multidisciplinary team in complex business
* Develop reporting mechanisms to optimise Waste Management operations
* Lead appropriate team meetings and monitor metrics with the team to optimise operations.
Required Skills and Experience
* Experience in the hazardous waste industry
* Pharmaceutical industry experience
* Financial acumen
* Leadership and management of multi-disciplinary teams
* Demonstrated change management experience in complex, fast moving business.
* Strong Communication Skills
* Strong Numeracy Skills
* Strong organisational and problem solving skills
* Technical background - Science or Engineering
* Experience in working in a regulated environment
