Senior Role Overview
This senior role provides leadership to the Platform Operations team as it develops to deliver exceptional services to internal delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage the team and provide support and mentorship to members as the remit widens.
2. Identify skills gaps on the team and address them through recruitment or training.
3. Take proactive measures to address platform incidents and resolve them completely, providing feedback to prevent future occurrences.
4. Ensure all supported tools and dependencies are current and updated frequently and safely.
5. Maintain supplier due diligence and commercial arrangements to bank standards.
6. Work with the platform engineering team to ensure operational requirements are in the product backlog.
7. Support enablement teams with up-to-date platform technical and operational information.
Requirements
* Demonstrated experience in a management or leadership role of an engineering or operations team.
* Experience operating services in high availability, critically important environments.
* Strong influencing skills and a proven track record of leading a team.
* Proven technical skills and strong commercial foresight.
* Strategic problem solver with vision and drive.
* A work history of contributing to overall performance.
About the Team
The EMS team is part of the Bank's Group Technology and Customer Solutions division, handling software testing environments. The Atlassian Tools Team and the Tooling Team develop and operate collaborative and CI/CD tools for the Bank of Ireland.
