Ivy Lane Montessori and After School is based on Fitzwilliam Street Upper, Dublin 2, and provides full and part-time care for children from 2 years and eight months old. Duties and Responsibilities of Role:
1. Co-Manage and implement the Montessori learning and activity program for the children, ensuring the individual needs of children are met.
2. Responsible for the learning and development of Montessori aged children.
3. Ensuring the physical, emotional, and developmental wellbeing of key children and families and demonstrate the ability to work and connect with all age groups.
4. Demonstrate passion and commitment to the provision of the highest standards of education, activities, and care for the children in Ivy Lane.
5. Implementing, planning, and reviewing the classroom and activity curriculum to include observations and reporting, ensuring that the well-being and physical needs of the children are being reached on a daily basis.
6. Show initiative and creativity in the planning, organisation, and communication of all activities, programs, and educational frameworks in Ivy Lane.
7. A key member of the planning process for creative, educational and physical activities in Ivy Lane based on the schools, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly objectives and timelines.
8. An up-to-date working knowledge of the latest developments in the early years sector.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills need to document and maintain all relevant records.
10. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and operational practices at all times.
11. Awareness of early years regulations, relevant legislation and policies.
12. Work alongside team in supporting the school rota, allowing for staff break cover, nap time, school collections, extra circular activities and any other reasonable request made by management.
13. Contribute to the team effort of the Montessori and attend staff meetings and Parents & Family Days organized by Ivy Lane.
Information on the Role:
1. Up to 40 hours per week - they will vary between 8.30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
2. School is open 47-weeks of the year and closed for 2-weeks at Christmas, 1 week over Easter in April and 2 further weeks in August.
3. Salary: dependent on qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Essential:
1. Two years + experience in Montessori setting
2. Certificate in First Aid and Child Protection Training would be an advantage
3. Minimum qualification at Level 6 however level 7/8 preferable in Early Childhood Care & Montessori Education
Desirable:
1. Knowledge of Síolta, Aistear and the Early Years (Pre-school services) Regulations is essential
2. Excellent Communication skill with fluency in both spoken and written English
3. Proven track record of leading Montessori class and ability to demonstrate the progress and outcomes your teaching and guidance brought about
4. Ability to form strong, warm and friendly relationships with children, parents and team
5. Have languages, hobbies and interests that can be incorporated in the school programme and curriculum
