Environmental and Safety Advisor County Kilkenny Exciting opportunity to join a leading business in the animal nutrition space. Reporting to the CEO, the successful candidate will lead the site's environmental function and ensure compliance with the highest standards of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) across all locations. This role requires a proactive self-starter with the drive to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams to achieve results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: This role is primarily focused on environmental compliance (70%) with additional duties in health and safety management. Collaborate with site management to ensure Environmental Management System (EMS) policies align with regulatory and licensing requirements. Oversee the operations of the Integrated Constructed Wetlands facility, ensuring compliance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards. Conduct site inspections, internal audits, and regulatory reviews to uphold environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards. Provide expert advice on health and safety matters across all levels of the organization and foster a zero-harm safety culture. Lead and coordinate audits and visits by regulatory bodies and certification organizations. Perform risk assessments, implement mitigation strategies, and investigate incidents to ensure timely corrective actions. Maintain detailed EHS documentation and perform data-driven analysis to support continuous improvement initiatives. Work collaboratively with stakeholders to integrate EHS practices into daily operations and enhance company-wide safety culture. Build and maintain positive relationships with regulatory bodies, local communities, and other stakeholders. The successful individual will have the following: Third-level qualification in Environmental Health & Safety. Minimum 3 years of experience in EHS. Proficient in ISO 14001 and 45001 management systems. Previous experience in Manufacturing / Production - Highly Desirable Continued professional development (e.g., IOSH, IEMA, IIRSM certifications). Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills. Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. Valid driving license.
