Morgan McKinley is working with a leading FMCG company to find a Global Freight Specialist for their Louth operation.
The Transport Planner will oversee transportation from manufacturing sites, ensuring demand and capacity alignment and service level achievement. This role involves customer-facing operations, managing preferred partners to support strategic objectives.
The Role:
* Procure ocean, road, and rail freight services.
* Filing import and export clearance documents.
* Creating tenders (RFPs, RFQs, and contract awards).
* Planning and scheduling containers.
* Issuing forecasts to transport and 3PL warehouse partners.
* Supporting report preparation and gathering information for key stakeholders.
* Analyzing freight costs for accuracy.
* Ensuring export documentation complies with customs regulations.
* Liaising with 3PL Distribution centers for issue resolution or additional capacity.
* Validating customer vendor manuals and freight solutions.
* Supporting business transportation planning and ERP implementation projects.
* Maintaining exceptional performance levels across the operation.
Requirements:
* 3+ years of experience in transport/logistics, managing FMCG/pharma operations.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management expertise.
* Extensive experience working with transport providers.
* Customs import/export procedures and shipments knowledge.
* Incoterms familiarity.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
