Category Manager
A talented Category Manager is required to join a leading healthcare and manufacturing organisation. This individual will be part of a collaborative team working on complex projects that drive tangible results.
Key Responsibilities:
* Build and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers to achieve operational excellence, monitoring and enhancing performance metrics through contractual agreements, scorecards, and periodic reviews.
* Drive solutions for intricate challenges such as dual sourcing, supplier negotiation, category strategy, and external sourcing, optimising supplier management and sourcing strategies.
* Engage with key departments including Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Finance, resolving issues and executing projects effectively.
* Champion supply chain improvements to boost agility, reduce lead times, and minimise costs, conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies.
* Oversee RFP/RFQ processes, lead contract negotiations, and perform benchmarking activities, delivering insightful decisions on outsourcing, total cost analysis, and supply chain mapping.
* Support New Product Introduction initiatives, ensuring alignment with Environmental Health and Safety standards and regulatory compliance.
Requirements:
* 7 years of experience in third-party supply chain management, managing and developing supplier relationships, with expertise in contract negotiation and sourcing, particularly with contract manufacturers.
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
* Exceptional leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex supply chain challenges.
* Strong financial acumen with expertise in supply chain finance, GMP practices, product validation, and regulatory requirements.
* Proficiency in ERP/ASCP systems (SAP preferred) and Quality Systems (FDA/ISO) in a regulated environment.
* Oustanding interpersonal and communication skills, collaborating across organisational levels.
* Up to 10% domestic or international travel.
