Duties and Responsibilities of the Role:
* Exhibit a professional and positive attitude in all interactions with clients, whether in person, over the phone, or through email
* To deal with incoming enquiries with regards to conferences, meetings & all other groups to ensure that all potential clients are dealt with within 8 working hours of the enquiry arriving in the hotel
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring a high conversion rate of leads to confirmed bookings and ensure follow through will any sales leads
* Provide strategic direction for daily operations, including handling enquiries, proposals, contracts, and event planning, while maintaining close client interaction & maximising revenue
* Upholds a high level of regular, frequent, accurate and timely communication to all related departments regarding the Meetings & Events sales within the hotel
* Ability to manage guest room and meeting space inventories effectively
* To issue weekly function sheet pack in a timely manner so all other departments in the business have visibility of upcoming business
* Structured, organised approach with the ability to prioritise and manage a demanding workload
* Follows-up with guests to determine satisfaction; measures result and supports strategies to improve the quality of the guest experience
* Manage customer satisfaction post-event by handling feedback and resolving any issues promptly and effectively
* To carry out test calls to competitors for price comparison purposes
* Collaborate with the Director of Meetings & Events Sales to review and optimise the business pipeline, identifying gaps and implementing proactive measures to meet targets.
* Ensure all events are executed in alignment with the hotel's brand standards
* To assist in hosting and organising hospitality events to major clients
Requirements for the role:
* A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a senior hospitality event management role, with a proven track record of leading a team in a high-volume, luxury environment
* Proficient in Opera Sales & Catering system
* Strong command of the English language both verbally and in writing
* Clear thinker with excellent communication abilities and attention to detail Competent in Microsoft Word & Excel
* Exceptional customer service and relationship management skills
