Job DescriptionAn amazing opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operational Excellence Lead to join our team at our Biotech facility. MPS refers to our internal Operational Excellence process.MPS is an integrated production system for how we design, manage, and continuously improve our operations and supporting business processes enabled through the development of our people.As part of our Manufacturing Division network, the Biotech Dublin team manufacture, test and release critical biologics products used globally in lifesaving medicines. To support excellence in production execution, the site is supported by a local MPS (Operational Excellence) team made up of lean technical experts that are responsible for leading the installation of MPS across the site.This Operational Excellence Lead will become a key member of the local MPS (Operational Excellence) team and provide on-site support for the deployment of lean systems and processes across our manufacturing site.What you will do: Bring energy, knowledge, innovation and leadership to carry out the following:Utilize various lean tools, techniques and global MPS (Operational Excellence) standards to design and install critical business processes and standardized work.Provide teaching and coaching to effectively transfer Lean skills into the organization for the development of Lean Leaders.Provide cross functional support on all elements of the lean toolkit including value stream and process mapping, standard work, tier process, 5S work place organization, Strategic A3 thinking, Hoshin Kanri, managing change, 8 wastes identification, poka yoke, Kanban etc.Provide rapid improvement projects through the use of Kaizen and project execution methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, etc).Lead the development of standardized and robust processes.Lead and support effective problem solving using the 8-step methodology to solve problems quickly.Support the identification of continuous improvement opportunities and lead/participate in cross-functional teams to implement identified improvements. Support activities in the areas of cost reduction, process efficiency, energy conservation, waste minimization and operational excellence.Play a key role in deciding on actions to take in response to metrics, schedule and process abnormalities, investigating the root cause and developing and implementing corrective and preventative actions as a result.REPORTING STRUCTUREThe Operational Excellence (MPS) Lead will report to the Head of Business Excellence.In order to excel in this role, you will more than likely have:A minimum of 5 years industry experience.Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Science or related field.SkillsMotivation to be an inspiring member of a high performing team and passion to build the future of our Biotech Dublin facility.Desire to continuously learn, improve and develop.Genuine passion to develop your lean knowledge and to apply lean tools for business benefit.Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills that enable the candidate to interface effectively with all levels of colleagues both on site and above site.Excellent analytical and systematic problem-solving skillsAbility to develop visual controls and a framework to make problems visible and respond with urgency to effectively break down complex problems, lead root cause analysis, and develop effective countermeasures.Lead and coach kaizen with a team to achieve multiple target conditions to achieve an overall challenge.Lead kaizen to improve standardized work.Strong influencing skillsPreferred Experience:Hands-on application of lean tools and techniques: standardized work, scientific problem solving, value stream mapping, mistake proofing, SMED, 5S-Visual Factory, capacity analysis.Experience in coaching and teaching others to think, behave and apply lean methods and tools.Experience in a Vaccines, Biologics or Sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.Experience in project execution methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Sprint etc).As a company, we are committed to 'Inventing for Life' in all that we do.
