Ensure the VAT returns are prepared and submitted accurately and on time. Verify the correct calculation and documentation of VAT on both purchases and sales.
Ensure the organization complies with all VAT laws and regulations in all jurisdictions where it operates.
Review and monitor all transactions to identify VAT obligations.
Manage and respond to VAT audits from tax authorities.
Advise internal teams (e.g., finance, operations, procurement) on VAT impact for different transactions and business activities.
Stay updated on VAT changes, reforms, and new regulations, and inform the management team of potential impacts.
Reconcile VAT on a monthly or quarterly basis, ensuring that all transactions align with the VAT records.
Prepare and file VAT3 returns through ROS in compliance with the Irish Revenue regulations.
Skills & Qualifications:
A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (VAT certification or tax qualification is a plus).
Proven experience in VAT management, accounting, or tax compliance, preferably in a relevant industry.
In-depth knowledge of VAT legislation, tax compliance procedures, and financial reporting standards.
Additional Qualifications (Optional):
A professional qualification, such as a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or equivalent, would be beneficial.
