Location: Dublin, Ireland
Our client is a dynamic, privately owned business with operations across three sectors having grown from a small team to nearly 300 employees. With the group poised for significant expansion in the coming years, including ambitious M&A plans, they are looking for a Group Financial Controller to take a key leadership role in driving the financial strategy and operations.
Reporting directly to the Group CFO, you will work closely with the shareholders and play a pivotal role in shaping the Group’s future.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and finalise monthly financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
2. Present financial results, KPIs, and strategic recommendations to the Group CFO and shareholders.
3. Oversee the annual budgeting process, collaborating with sales, marketing, and operations teams.
4. Manage cashflow forecasting and intra-group cash movements.
5. Act as the main point of contact for banking relationships and leasing arrangements.
6. Lead on Capex evaluations and any future debt financing requirements.
7. Process executive payroll and oversee fortnightly/monthly payroll operations.
8. Manage tax compliance, audits, and timely submission of VAT, PAYE, and Corporation Tax filings.
9. Manage a growing finance team of 13, mentoring team members, and planning for succession.
10. Streamline and document finance processes to support scalability and efficiency.
11. Collaborate with marketing to evaluate campaigns and budgets.
12. Support sales teams with pricing, corporate tenders, and commission structures.
13. Partner with operations to analyse profitability by customer, sector, etc.
14. Take ownership of the finance system migration from Sage 50 to Microsoft BC.
Ideal Candidate:
1. Qualified ACA/ACCA with significant PQE in industry.
2. Strong technical accounting expertise and commercial acumen.
3. Proven experience managing a finance team, with excellent leadership and mentoring skills.
4. Highly IT literate with the ability to serve as a super-user for key systems (e.g., Sage 50, Microsoft BC, Dataset, Hubspot).
5. Ambitious, highly organised, and eager to take ownership of a critical role in a growing organisation.
