As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be joining a project management consultancy based in Co Cork that, due to growth in project pipeline, is now seeking to add to their team of skilled project managers and quantity surveyors. This consultancy has a strong team with a variety of experience, with the directors taking a hands-on approach to live projects and working closely with the remainder of the team to deliver projects to the highest quality and standards. Projects remit across Ireland and globally in some instances.
Your New Role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be the go-between for the QS team and senior management. You can expect to lead the QS function across projects and mentor junior QS members of the team. Usual functions of a QS role can be expected, such as prepping tender and contract documents, providing estimates, prepping cost plans, and cash flow. Regular communication with design teams, contractors, and other consultancies as and when required is essential. You should be a great negotiator when it comes to dealing with external contractors. You will have full autonomy in this role to run your day as you see fit.
The Requirements
Previous PQS experience is essential to the role, along with a strong understanding of construction methodologies, cost management, and contracts. Software skills in Cubit or Cost X are required. A full driving license to travel to sites when required is necessary. Being chartered or SCSI registered and working towards chartership would be ideal, with 8 years of experience in either a cost/project management consultancy working on projects in Ireland.
Our client is based in Co Cork, though it would be commutable from Cork City or even Limerick. Hybrid working options can be discussed upon an offer of employment. You will have a great supportive environment and culture to leverage with great growth and development opportunities. Some great projects to be a part of across Ireland that will provide job satisfaction and technical challenge.
