The Physiotherapist will work with residents with Huntington's disease, dementia, neuropsychiatric presentations, enduring mental health conditions and emerging physical disabilities.

Bloomfield Hospital is a 131-bed in-patient mental health service, registered as an approved centre with the Mental Health Commission.
Our ethos is rooted in honouring the dignity of every person who comes through our doors.
We provide a spectrum of neuropsychiatric services to adults with a range of serious and enduring mental health needs such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and Huntington's Disease, as well as individuals with early onset dementias, schizophrenia and mood disorders.
We are the only facility in Ireland that provides high level of specialised care for people with Huntington's disease.
In Bloomfield Hospital there is a focus on creating a therapeutic environment by using recovery oriented clinical practices and therapeutic interventions which are evidence based to enable and support patients to achieve their highest level of functioning and quality of life.
This care is delivered through a Multidisciplinary Team including colleagues in Psychiatry, Psychology, Nursing, Pharmacy, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language, Dietetics, Physiotherapy and General Practice.

Key responsibilities will include:
Carry a clinical caseload appropriate to the post.
Be responsible for client assessment, development and implementation of individualised treatment plans that are client centred and in line with best practice.
Be responsible for goal setting in partnership with the client, family and other team members as appropriate.
Communicate and work in co-operation with other team members.
Develop effective communication with and provide instruction, guidance and support to service users, family, carers etc.
Document client records in accordance with professional standards and departmental policies.
Provide a service in varied locations in line with local policy / guidelines and within appropriate time allocation Participate in review meetings, case conferences, ward rounds etc.

Maintain quality standards of work and co-operate with quality assurance programmes.
Seek the advice of relevant personnel when appropriate / as required.
Maintain professional standards in relation to confidentiality, ethics and legislation.
Operate within own scope of Physiotherapy practice as per CORU requirements and in accordance with local guidelines.
Sufficient knowledge in Ortho rehabilitation, Neuro rehabilitation, Cardiac rehabilitation.
Actively participate in the improvement and development of Physiotherapy services by working collaboratively with team members.
Must have experience working with older adults.
Gather and analyse statistics and participate in audits as part of the team's efforts.
The successful candidates will meet the following requirements: Be registered (or in the process of registering) on the Physiotherapist register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
Have two to three years full time (or an aggregate of three years) post qualification clinical experience.
Hold a degree in Physiotherapy or an equivalent qualification and be eligible for membership with the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists.
Have established clinical and management experience in the areas of Mental Health, Older Persons, Frail Elderly and have clinical experience of associated medical conditions and/or in palliative care.
Previous experience in a mental health environment and working with Huntington's patients is an advantage.
Have a good knowledge and experience of health, safety and other statutory regulations affecting a healthcare organisation.
