SQL DBA (BBBH2734) Dublin, Republic of Ireland
Ergo is working with a well-known charity who are seeking a SQL DBA for a permanent role in South Dublin. As a SQL DBA you will be responsible for migrating the current database infrastructure to a new, highly available system, ensuring seamless transitions, minimal downtime, and improved performance and reliability.
The database team also supports the Microsoft Dynamics CRM and associated integration tools, SQL Server databases, as well as SSRS and PowerBI reporting tools.
What will you do?
* Manage and maintain a SQL Server database environment ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.
* Implement and manage HA/DR solutions such as clustering, replication, and Always On to minimize downtime and safeguard data.
* Develop and implement data models to ensure data integrity and consistency.
* Perform data sanitisation to clean and prepare data for migration and integration projects.
* Develop robust security protocols to protect sensitive data, including role-based access controls, encryption, and regular security audits.
* Optimize database performance through query tuning and index management.
* Work closely with different teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver data-driven insights that support business objectives.
* Monitor database health and proactively address potential issues.
* Rationalise existing data infrastructure to eliminate redundancy and improve data quality, creating a blueprint for the new architecture.
* Assist in data migration and integration projects.
What do you need?
* Previous experience in a similar role: Database Administrator, Data Analyst, BI Developer.
* Strong knowledge of SQL Server (2016 or later).
* Experience with high availability solutions.
* Proficiency in T-SQL and database performance tuning.
* Valid work permit (EU Passport or Stamp 4 Visa) as sponsorship not available.
