Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Category Manager to join our Ireland Procurement team as a permanent position. Reporting to the Country Procurement Director, this role is accountable for executing defined category strategies on a local level.
The ideal candidate will act as a lead buyer for local organizations, identifying opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance, and service improvements. They will provide guidance and direction to the local team to execute procurement tactics, achieving these benefits through strong relationships with internal customers, regional teams, and external suppliers.
This role offers a unique opportunity to develop category strategies, deliver value for the business, and ensure the delivery of cost benefits across key categories such as Maintenance & Production Services, Production Equipment & Raw Materials.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute category strategies to deliver value for the business
* Work closely with national/regional directors, local managers, and Group Direct Sourcing to determine sourcing needs and capture synergy opportunities
* Build strong relationships across stakeholder groups to implement procurement initiatives and processes
* Forecast, budget, and deliver on financial KPIs
* Drive annual cost-saving projects and other procurement benefits using best-in-class tools and processes
* Provide monthly reports and KPIs demonstrating continuous improvement
* Contribute to the company's Sustainability agenda in line with the decarbonization roadmap
* Maintain expertise and national market knowledge for assigned categories
