Challenging Purchasing & Planning Role in Cork
Purchasing & Planning Manager - Cork is a dynamic position that requires a skilled professional to oversee internal manufacturing, product purchasing, shipping, and planning. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of purchasing and planning teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage purchasing reports, ERP actions, and inventory levels to ensure cost optimisation.
* Support internal manufacturing by addressing unpredictable needs and last-minute orders.
* Oversee product purchasing, shipping, and planning across global suppliers.
* Handle raw material costing, including freight, duty, and supplier pricing.
* Bulk and maintain supplier relationships, and participate in onboarding new suppliers.
* Work with an ERP system to create and update critical purchasing data.
* Collaborate closely with operations, planning, and account managers to meet strict deadlines.
* Attend daily review meetings and remain reactive to shifting demands.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
* 3+ years of experience in purchasing/planning within industrial manufacturing.
* Strong ERP & Microsoft Excel skills (experience with MS Dynamics NAV/BC a plus).
* A proactive, flexible mindset, able to thrive in fast-moving environments with short lead times.
* Strong relationship-building skills, working with internal teams, suppliers, and external customers.
* High attention to detail and numerical ability, with a focus on cost efficiency and KPIs.
