I am delighted to be recruiting in partnership with a globally recognised medical device company on their requirement for an experienced Buyer.
Joining a company going through an exciting phase of expansion, this Buyer will be responsible for negotiating price, working to achieve cost targets and will develop key supplier relationships on a global scale. This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate who loves to operate at pace, and who thrives on being a key contributor to an organisation's output and productivity.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Managing a portfolio of key suppliers and work on negotiations to procure materials and services.
2. Requests bids from new suppliers to ensure the best price for materials.
3. Implements cost saving initiatives to achieve value for money.
4. Complete performance reviews of current suppliers and source new potential suppliers that are aligned with the objectives of the category
5. Identify invoice discrepancies (e.g., duplicate billing, price differences, quantity errors and take necessary steps to resolve the problem.
6. Maintain records of items/services purchased, costs, delivery, travel patterns, product quality/performance and inventories to provide accurate information source.
7. Processes purchase requests by accessing database and assigning a number to the order to provide an information source for tracking the order.
Key Requirements
8. 3+ years' experience in a similar buying role within a manufacturing environment
9. Level 8 degree in related field (Business, Supply Chain or other).
10. APICS qualification (or studying towards) an advantage.
11. SAP experience essential
