Scope of the Role
The Senior Sales Executive will play a key role in driving the hotel's revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives. This position is responsible for managing and expanding the Hodson Bay Hotel's corporate and leisure client base, driving direct sales efforts, and ensuring the achievement of revenue targets. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in hotel sales, a strong network within the industry, and a results-oriented approach to business development.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy Development:
- Assist the Sales Manager in creating and executing the hotel's annual sales strategy and objectives.
- Identify new business opportunities and market trends to maximise revenue for the hotel.
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:
- Actively prospect, acquire, and manage new accounts (corporate, leisure, group, and event clients).
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, DMCs, and industry contacts.
- Identify customer needs and tailor offerings to provide superior customer service and satisfaction.
Account Management:
- Monitor the performance of existing accounts, ensuring repeat business, and addressing any client concerns or requirements.
- Create proposals and negotiate contracts for new business.
- Ensure all client interactions are documented, and Salesforce (CRM) is consistently updated with accurate information.
Revenue Growth:
- Work closely with the Sales Manager to set and meet monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Monitor market trends and competitors to adjust pricing and sales strategies accordingly.
- Assist in the development of promotional campaigns and special offers to attract new business.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Provide regular reports on sales activities, bookings, and potential leads.
- Track sales performance against KPIs and targets and adjust as needed to achieve goals.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the Marketing, Reservations, and Operations teams to ensure a seamless experience for clients.
- Participate in sales meetings and share insights and strategies with team members.
Event & Conference Sales:
- Act as a primary contact for group bookings, corporate events, and conference business.
- Coordinate with the event planning team to ensure the successful execution of events.

Key Skills and Competencies:
Sales Acumen: Strong sales skills with the ability to drive revenue and achieve targets.
Marketing Understanding: Knowledge of digital and traditional marketing strategies, including SEO, content marketing, and social media.
Customer Focus: Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse market trends, sales data, and customer feedback to inform strategic decisions.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present ideas and strategies.
Creativity: Innovative thinking with the ability to develop unique marketing campaigns and sales strategies.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in business, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of sales experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in a senior or executive-level sales role.
- Strong experience in corporate, group, and leisure sales.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and business development.
Work Environment
This role may require working outside of standard business hours, including weekends and holidays, depending on business needs.
Occasional travel may be required to attend trade shows, industry events, or meet with clients.
