Automation Technician Role
The primary objective of this Automation Technician role is to maintain and operate automation equipment within the medical devices company in Waterford, adhering to health & safety, operational, and quality work instructions, procedures, and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain automation equipment in excellent condition to ensure consistent quality, output, and yield.
* Implement systematic root cause problem solving and troubleshooting to resolve issues efficiently.
* Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, completing all associated paperwork and records accurately.
* Lead process improvements to achieve more efficient operations while adhering to change management and cGMP requirements.
* Assist with commissioning new equipment or projects, ensuring timely completion.
* Order and manage spare parts inventory, maintaining an appropriate stock level.
* Cross-train technicians as required, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
* Support all company safety and quality programs and initiatives, upholding ongoing compliance with GMP practices.
* Ensure adherence to learnings from GMP training events, applying acquired knowledge effectively.
Requirements:
* A Level 6, 7, or 8 HETAC qualification in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical / Automation Engineering, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a similar field.
* Alternatively, qualified trades personnel with industrial experience will be considered.
* Experience in high-volume automation / robotics is essential, with a preference for candidates with experience in a Healthcare medical device manufacturing environment.
* Familiarity with Pneumatics, Electronics, Hydraulics, Programmable Controllers, Servo Motor drives, Vision systems, Ultrasonic welding, and workshop machining is highly desirable.
* An understanding of Process Capability, MSA, or GR&R is required.
* Leadership experience in process improvement projects within a medical device environment is advantageous.
* Familiarity with FAT, SAT, IOPQ of automated assembly lines is beneficial.
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide innovative solutions to complex technical problems.
* Adherence to change management procedures and cGMP requirements is essential.
* Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
* A high level of safe working practices and awareness is required.
* Proficiency in MS Office applications is necessary.
